ST. LUCIE COUNTY — One woman was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce Friday morning with serious, but not life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the woman was driving a silver Mercury car southbound on Johnston Road around 6:10 a.m. when she swerved and sideswiped a man driving a black Hyundai car.

The man driving the Hyundai then hit the front of a silver Chevrolet car another man was driving.
The crash happened on Johnston Road at Southwest 25th Street in St. Lucie County.
Troopers said the man driving the Chevrolet was driven to a local hospital. He was in serious, but not life-threatening condition.
In February, a man died after a crash on Johnston Road north of Russos Road in rural St. Lucie County.

FHP officials would not release the names of the people involved in Friday’s crash.
