A suspected human smuggler led state police on a chase on Thursday in the Cielito Lindo neighborhood in south Laredo, authorities said.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers attempted a traffic stop on a gold Chevy Trailblazer at about 8:30 a.m. on U.S. 83 near the intersection with Mangana Hein Road.
The driver allegedly refused to stop and started to elude authorities.
DPS said the driver drove recklessly on several streets through the Cielito Lindo area. The Chevy then struck another vehicle at a residence and sustained major damage to its front right fender and tire.
The driver continued evading until it stopped where the pursuit started by U.S. 83 and Mangana Hein, authorities said.
DPS arrested the woman driving the vehicle. She was identiifed as Clarissa Zuazua, 35. U.S. Border Patrol took custody of three passengers who were in the country illegally. DPS said one was a child. No one was harmed during the incident.

Zuazua was charged with reckless driving, abandon, endanger a child, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, evading arrest with a vehicle, smuggling of persons, aggravated assault against a public servant and prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
