A vehicle crashed into a Bank of America office building in northwest Travis County early Saturday after a short car chase by deputies, the Travis County sheriff’s office said.

Deputies first received several reports of attempted vehicle burglaries overnight Saturday in the Steiner Ranch area, said Kristen Dark, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. They later found a vehicle around 2 a.m. that they believed was connected to the reports, Dark said.

However, the driver quickly drove away from deputies and onto RM 620 in Northwest Travis County. Deputies chased the vehicle a short distance but lost its location.

Another call came in shortly after saying that same vehicle crashed into the Bank of America Financial Center at Four Points, which is at the intersection of RM 620 and Bullick Hollow Road (RM 2222).

Two people ran away from the wreck, according to deputies. However, Dark said investigators have “good leads” on their identities.
