TALMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies are investigating after a 76-year-old man from Marne crashed and died while trying to corral an escaped horse.
Authorities responded to the scene on Buchanan St. near Linden Dr. NW at around 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
The victim was trying to follow the horse in a side-by-side off-road vehicle (ORV) when he somehow lost control, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say that’s when the ORV rolled over and pinned the driver to the ground.
First responders attempted but were unable to save his life.
Deputies are still investigating an exact cause of the crash.
