Wendi Richter has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It seems a bit of a shock considering the history she had and pretty much would not be seen in the public for years. The one inducting her in would be Roddy Piper, which seemed like a shock. Maybe it was going to be Lou Albano but his unfortunate passing may have lead to this. Even then, there could have been Cyndi Lauper since it was part of that Rock and Wrestling Connection that was being built that helped get the World Wrestling Federation into the mainstream.

The last time she was seen in the World Wrestling Federation would be the time that she would go on to lose the Woman’s Title to Spider Lady. This one was the Fabulous Moolah under the mask and apparently there had been a screw job affect. The dispute had more to do with money or at least that did appear to be the basis. This isn’t the same as the one that would be used in Montreal where there was some paranoia from Vince McMahon worried that Bret was going to take the WWE Title with him to WCW. There is more to the story on that but it comes down to what you want to believe but this is not the focus and this is for another time.

She later would not be seen in the WWE for many years but did later compete in other promotions before stepping away from the competition for years. She also is a former AWA Woman’s Champion putting her in a list of a few women that have done with it and the other notable one was Sherri Martel. She did compete in the independents for sometime and later would be out of the wrestling world.

It seems that there is a theme called moving on and it seems to be the case with Wendi. Her career is noted for being apart of the Rock and Wrestling Connection that helped in that sense. She is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010 and only time will tell if it will be a good send-off. The one thing that is for sure is that peace may have been made possibly in that respect.

Either way you look at it, she has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and it should be interesting on what exactly will be the speech be when it finally comes to her turn in speaking. That is all the more that can be said.
