I had to make an emergency exit from the highway and ended up here where the owner Joe was kind enough to help me out. Extremely grateful for the time Joe took out of his other work to help get me back on the road! Joe knows!!! He’s honest with his prices and advice. He even advised me to space out some of the service I needed on my truck to keep the cost down. He prioritized what I needed at the time and advised me to get some service that day. Both of our vehicles are serviced by M & M.

Just came back from this shop, with new brakes and tires on my old Volvo. I thought I’d have to go to two places or maybe leave the car for two days but nope, all done in one day and at a fair price. Nothing about cars is ever cheap but I felt like it was a decent price, less than I expected for sure. Joe called with updates 3 times during the day and had it all done at the promised time. Would recommend!
Reputable and honest. No haggling needed – Joe is a straight shooter and will help you get back on the road sage and sound when your vehicle is in need for repairs. At Tony’s my fixes were costly and he’d help periodize which ones need to be addressed industry and which could be postponed for a short time. Let me start by saying I have dealt with multiple mechanics upon moving to LA.
I’ve tried the Subaru dealer.
I’ve tried a small mechanic.
Both were horrible, pain staking instances.
So when my car broke down last week you could imagine how broken I was inside.
I head to Yelp.
Check out some mechanics here, some there.
And came upon this one, Automotive M&M.
Not only did they sympathize with me (something that we all need every now and then) they fixed the problem head on and at such a great price!
Joe is the real deal and probably the most honest mechanic in Sherman Oaks.
I’m not saying I can’t wait for the next time I need servicing, but at least I’m assured knowing Joe will take care of it.

I can’t say enough good things about Joe and his shop. He properly diagnosed and repaired an alternator problem on a 2005 Mercury Mariner that had persisted for months and had stymied several other mechanics, including the dealership. He won’t rest easy until your issue is fixed. He took care of a fob problem for my Subaru and pretty much wouldn’t accept payment because it was minor. Guess what? This review is the least that I can to pay. He has a customer for life, and I have a big mouth. You will not go wrong with him and his shop.
If your car needs great, quality service for a fair and reasonable price, this is the place for you. The owner, Joe, I have now been coming to since he took the business over from Manny many years ago. Joe is an honest, stand up guy… someone you can trust. Here’s an example of true integrity: My car dealership told me I needed new brake pads (quoted price approx. $1K). Since my maintenance warranty had recently expired, I thought nope, I’m going to see Joe. Not only did he quote me way WAY less (less than 50% of the dealership’s cost), after his team removed my tires to check my brakes he told me I didn’t even need them! That’s right, he could’ve easily replaced them and pocketed my cash and I would’ve never known. But instead, being the honest man that he is, he so kindly informed me of this. He has my business for life. Thanks, Joe and team!

5 stars for an HONEST auto mechanic. Have brought cars here (from my old Honda, to my husband’s Scion) and now I will bring my new crossover to him in the future if I ever need something. I can’t tell you how nice it is to feel like you can trust someone in this business, when the dealers price gauge and give recommendations for things you don’t even need.
On numerous occasions we have used M&M for repairs as well as second opinions after the dealers gave us a laundry list of to do’s. We will always bring our cars here or call Mike & Joe first for advice. Fair pricing and good service. Great shop!
BEST mechanic experience of my life!
I called right before they were going to close to try and snag an appointment the next morning (I’m a terrible human being) and not only did Joe take the time to answer my questions and listen to my concerns, he fit me into their busy schedule when they were short staffed and I was able to be seen first thing in the morning. I had my front brakes and 3 of my tires replaced and they had my car in and out before I had to leave for work.
The price he quoted on the phone was the same price I paid, super fair and extremely appreciated by my poor self.

Joe is the best mechanic I have ever had. Very honest and straightforward. He won’t charge you for unnecessary work and will even tell you if the parts are under warranty so take it to the dealer. I have lived in the valley for a while now and very happy I found this place.
I brought Joe a car from one of the used car dealers from the area after finding him online. It was mid afternoon but he helped us out and prioritized the car to get it checked out by the end of the day. He saved us from getting a “too good to be true” car with a lot of sketchy stuff not reported even on the CarFax. Thinking about bringing all other cars we’re checking out, even if their not in the valley, to Joe.
This place still rocks.

So nice to find an honest mechanic. It’s like discovering a unicorn! That unicorn is Joe. I’ve used their services several times and was impressed each time. He genuinely cares! Very reasonable prices. No BS fees or up selling. Always has car ready as promised (usually earlier). He once even waited for me after hours so I didn’t have to wait to pick up my car the next day. Just a great person in general.

I’ve been bringing my car here for over a year now. Last guy I went to quoted me $1300 to fix my car. Came here and Joe quoted me $500 and it ended up being less. Very trustworthy and always helpful. Thanks Joe!!
This review is LONG overdue. Incredible experience all things considered…It was my son’s Jeep that was in for quite a bit of work when he was out in LA during an internship for school and I was back home in Ohio. Bottom line, they are honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, AND do great work. Is there anything more valuable than a honest and competent mechanic?!? They are worth their weight in gold. Side note: This guy know Jeeps!

Years ago my car broke down in the parking lot of Whole Foods on Sepulveda in Sherman Oaks. It was 8 pm in the evening, and I called Automotive M & M for help. Joe showed up in person to look at my car and help. He wasn’t hesitant to go above and beyond, and he went out of his way well beyond work hours. Joe is the finest example of a business owner I have ever met. He is fair, honest, considerate and hard working. I wholeheartedly trust M & M Automotive with all of my car needs.
