Juveniles arrested for vehicle theft in Barstow

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A couple of Barstow juveniles were arrested for vehicle theft after attempting to run from officers, officials said.

At about noon on Thursday, March 26, 2020, deputies from the Barstow Police Department observed a male juvenile run out of the QMart store on May Avenue with a bottle of liquor.

When the officers attempted to stop him he fled. The officers eventually caught the male and arrested him, officials said.

According to a news release, “they confirmed that the male stole the liquor and returned it to the store. The male was issued a citation for the theft and released to his parent.”

At 3:50 pm Barstow Police Dispatch Center received a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that she left her Ford Focus running for a few minutes as she went into her home and in that time someone stole it.

Byron man injured in crash, Rochester man arrested in stolen vehicle

A 37-year-old Byron man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after his vehicle went airborne during a single vehicle crash on Olmsted County Road 3 Northwest in Kalmar Township. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash just before 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of County Road 3 Northwest. Capt. Scott Behrns said the pickup was northbound when it drifted into the southbound lanes, went into the west ditch, struck a field drive and went airborne before coming to a rest on its wheels. The driver, Samuel Carlson, was the only person in the vehicle. Deputies noticed signs of impairment when he was taken out of the truck. Carlson was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys for suspected minor injuries. Deputies reportedly found 4.28 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle. The incident is still under investigation.

Local teen arrested following pursuit after shots fired from vehicle

WACO, Texas (KWTX) A local teenager was jailed Thursday and police were looking for two other suspects following a chase that ended in a crash after someone in the car in which he was riding started shooting from inside the vehicle.

Christian Norwood, 19, is charged with deadly conduct.

His bond had not been set Thursday morning, according to online records.

An officer was in the area when the shots were fired from the vehicle at around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of North 20th Street and Mitchell Avenue, Officer Garen Bynum said.

“Our officer quickly attempted to stop the vehicle, however, a short pursuit ensued north through the neighborhood,” Bynum said.

The chase ended in the area of North 20th and McFerrin Avenue when the sedan in which Norwood and two others were riding slammed into a fence.

Whitehall: Man arrested after being found in stolen vehicle – News – ThisWeek Community News

Whitehall Division of Police officers arrested a 33-year-old Columbus man for receiving stolen property at 1:05 a.m. April 5 at South Hamilton Road and Melroy Avenue.

He was found in a vehicle that had been reported stolen, police said.

Fayetteville man arrested for trying to blow up vehicle at Pentagon

A 19-year-old Fayetteville man appeared in federal court on Tuesday for charges relating to his alleged attempt at blowing up a vehicle at the Pentagon on February 24.A press release from the Department of Justice shows, a Pentagon Police Officer on patrol allegedly saw Matthew Dmitri Richardson of Fayetteville standing next to a vehicle striking a cigarette lighter to a piece of fabric that was inserted into the vehicle’s gas tank. Richardson allegedly told the officer he was going to “blow this vehicle up” and “himself”. When the officer attempted to detain him, Richardson pulled away and ran across the parking lot towards Virginia State Route 110 and onto Virginia State Route 27. Surveillance camera footage showed that Richardson jumped over a fence into Arlington National Cemetery.
