Automotive Smart Factories | Research Report

Please click here to access the Capgemini Research institute’s latest report (an update of the 2018 report on automotive smart factories)

This report is the third in a series of research on smart factories, after “Smart Factories: How can manufacturers realize the potential of digital industrial revolution” and “The Digital Utility Plant: Unlocking value from the digitization of production”

Our analysis has some significant findings and implications for the automotive industry

Automotive—the most bullish sector on smart factories

The automotive sector is the most enthusiastic industry about smart factories – it is making larger investments and setting higher targets for its digital manufacturing operations than any other sector.

Few auto manufacturers have translated their enthusiasm into real progress

By the end of 2022, automotive manufacturers expect that 24% of their plants will be smart factories and 49% of automakers have already invested more than $250 million in smart factories.

    Vehicle Registration Requirements & Information

    Vehicle Registration Summary:

Information about the cost of new car tags/vehicle registration can be found by clicking on your state. Find out if you’ll receive a temporary license plate/temporary tags while you wait for your permanent registration to arrive. You may find that your state offers a vehicle registration fee calculator to make it easy to determine your total registration cost.

    Vehicle Registration

After you buy a car, you’ll need to register it with your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Secretary of State (SOS), Department of Revenue (DOR), Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), or other local entity that sets vehicle regulations in your state. If someone is asking for your vehicle registration number, they are probably referring to your Vehicle Identification (VIN) number.

Before you can register your car, your vehicle will likely need to:

    • Have a title in your name.
    • Pass an emissions test or smog check

Reviews of the Best Touring Bicycles

    bicycles cartoon
When it comes to buying a touring bicycle, most local bike shops will have only one or two models on the floor, if any. It isn’t that they don’t want to sell a high-quality touring bicycle, it is more an issue of economics and what price range the average person comes in the store to buy.

If you go into a local bike store, the price of most bicycles will start around $300 and go to over $1,500 for higher-end racing bicycles and mountain bikes. Most of the bicycles you will see will be in the $500 to $600 range. Unfortunately, a new, high-quality touring bicycle will usually have a price tag of $1,000 or more. And many of the expedition bicycles that can handle almost any touring terrain will start at $2,000 and go up from there.

When considering a new touring bicycle, I use the following selection criteria:

The Phoenix Metro Bicycle Club is a non-profit social organization that leads regularly scheduled weekly bicycle rides and other special events for the benefit of its members.  We promote and provide venues for safe and legal bicycling, primarily in the greater Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area.

Based on advice from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), we are recommending that everyone practice social distancing and avoid the risk of physical injury when our health care system is at or nearing capacity due to the coronavirus pandemic. For this reason we are suspending the Club’s weekly rides and social activities until the health emergency passes. Thank you for your understanding. At such time as the CDC and Arizona’s governor have declared it safe to resume normal ride schedules, the PMBC Board plans to meet to schedule the resumption of Club activities.

Our Club’s insurance policies only cover riders and ride
